Broken Shoes

When you're financially poor, life finds all kinds of ways to bite you in the rump. Okay, before I continue and someone throw a show at me for being a hypocrite, I am not exactly poor and really needing some funds to get by life. Just I have some plans for the cash and these little things that happen in my life are giving me setbacks that are delaying my plans to waste my money on useless items save up for things like a house for the future family.

I am unable to get a picture of it now, but I'll see if I can post a picture of it sometime later or not. For now, I guess I'll just use words (like usual -.-") to describe the condition of my shoes.

It's a pair of black leather shoes that served me quite well. Truth be told, I like the comfort that it provides me. For 5 days a week, more than 9 hrs a day, and on almost all random terrains that I used walk on, it certainly did serve me well for a good whole year. Except for the fact that the sole of it, has ripped apart and there is this gaping hole at the bottom of the sole. It's like a 3" gash. At least I now found the source of water seeping in to soak my socks whenever I walk across wet surfaces (wet floor/ puddles).

Another point I would like to add in, this is not some cheap leather shoes that I'm talking about here. I think the brand is Crocodile and it costs me about MYR130 even after 50% discount. The problem is not with the shoes I guess, but because of the terrain that I walk on. The nature of my job requires me to walk on gravels and stones, then from my parking to my office also requires me to walk on tarred road. I guess tar ain't that bad compared to gravel and stones.

I am now contemplating if I should go out and purchase a new pair of shoes, or should I just live with wet-socks-whenever-it-rains type of shoes, or I should try to give it to those uncle by the road to see if they can fix it. Based on the design of the shoes, I highly doubt those uncle could mend this shoe for me. By the way, even my casual sports shoes will soak my socks whenever I walk across wet surfaces. In other words, I don't have any shoes that can keep my socks dry whenever it rains. :( I foresee injuries to my savings and wallet. :(
